In order to make it easy to come back to an interesting knowledge document powerKNOW allows for the bookmarking of knowledge documents. The following ways are available to get a link to a knowledge document stored in powerKNOW:
  • In the document list showing your search results right click on the title of the document you want to bookmark. In the context menu select "Add to Favorites".
This will place a link to the document in Internet Explorer Favorites.

  • In the document list showing your search results right click on the title of the document you want to bookmark. In the context menu select "Copy Shortcut".
This will place a copy of the link in the clipboard.

  • When viewing the knowledge document you want to bookmark the document viewer may show this button in the toolbar: Use this button to store a link to the document in the clipboard.
Availability of this button depends on the configuration (See config key: 'allowCopyLink2Clipboard').

  • When viewing the knowledge document you want to bookmark rightclick into the knowledge document (avoid links). In the context menu select "Add to Favorites".
This will place a link to the document in Internet Explorer Favorites.

  • When viewing the knowledge document you want to bookmark rightclick into the knowledge document (avoid links). In the context menu select "Properties". In the properties dialog mark the URL and copy it to the clipboard.
If you are using powerKNOW with frames enabled powerKNOW will reconstruct the frames when following such a link.

The links you've placed in the clipboard can be send to other users as well. Just paste the link into a mail. The receiving user will need to have access to powerKNOW. If he is not already logged into powerKNOW when using the link powerKNOW will ask for his valid login.
