FAQ: Demo sites: Login + Restrictions

As we want to make it easy for everyone to test our knowledge management product powerKNOW we provide public demo sites. These sites are solemly for testing purposes.

These are the logins to the demo sites:
Access as a reader
(search + read knowledge documents)
User roles: reader only
Username: kreader
Password: powerknow
Access as an editor + approver
(add, change, store, approve, search + read knowledge documents) User roles: editor + approver
Username: keditor
Password: powerknow
Access as a knowledge manager
(all functions) User roles: editor, expert, approver + knowledge manager
Username: kmanager
Password: powerknowkm


When using one of these sites please be aware of the following restrictions / rules:
  • As these are public sites every piece of information loaded to the site will be visible to everyone using the site. So be sure not to upload confidential information.

  • The complete contents of the demo site will be reinitialized daily. So don't expect to see your test data from the day before.

  • A base set of keyword entries will be protected from editing. But you can add new keyword entries and change, delete and rename these new entries.

  • A base set of users will be protected from editing. But you can add new users and change, delete and rename these new users.

  • It's not possible to change the password of a user in the login dialog. For all new users the password can be changed in user administration.

  • The configuration of a base set of MyStructure texts will be protected from editing. But you can modify the configuration for additional MyStructure texts.

  • Serveral other configuration entries will be protected from editing as well.
These restrictions are intended to keep the demo operational in such an open environment while allowing users to test as much of the functionality as possible.

If you want to make some tests in a more private environment you can download a test version of powerKNOW and install it in your network.
