FAQ: Install IIS with ASP.NET

If you want to run powerKNOW under Internet Information Server (IIS) you will have to install IIS first. IIS is an optional Windows component which has to be installed from the control panel:

Install IIS on Windows Server 2003

You install IIS from the ControlPanel:

ControlPanel > Add or Remove Programms
                 > Add/Remove Windows Components
                     > Application Server
                         > Details

Enable "ASP.NET". This will automatically enable "COM+" and the neccessary components of IIS.

Install IIS on other supported OS

You install IIS from the ControlPanel:

ControlPanel > Add or Remove Programms
                 > Add/Remove Windows Components
                     > Internet Information Server

If you installed .NET Framework before installing IIS please see Microsoft Knowledbase 325093 for the neccessary steps to configure Internet Information Server to run ASP.NET. powerKNOW installer will try to fix this problem as well.
