FAQ: Install an additional instance step by step

If you want to run different powerKNOW knowledge pools on the same server machine you need to install additional instances of powerKNOW.

Before starting to install an additional instance you should have finished the basic installation of powerKNOW (this is the first instance).

To start the installation / update of an additional instance of powerKNOW under IIS run "powerKNOWcfg". This program is located in the 'bin' subdirectory of the powerKNOW directory (default under IIS: "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\powerKNOW\bin\powerKNOWcfg", default under Cassini: "C:\Program Files\powerKNOW\bin\powerKNOWcfg"). Use windows explorer to start this program. Then select "newInstance" from the "Select config job" dialog box.
