Configuration

powerKNOW is highly configurable.

Here are some of the most common configuration tasks:

Configuring the IT-Environment:

• Configuring user access / authentication

There are different places where configuration changes will need to be applied:

Configuration source
Site configuration file	The Site configuration file is an XML-File which resides in the 'data' subdirectory of the directory of the powerKNOW application. It's name is Config.config . This file can be edited / changed by an administrator. For it's contents and format see "Configuration Keys", "Configuration Format" There is also a dialog to change/maintain the most used config items.
ASP.NET configuration file	The ASP.NET configuration file is an XML-File which resides in the root directory of the powerKNOW application. It's name is Web.config. It's the standard ASP.NET config place. Some of the configuration changes for the IT-Environment will require changes here. This file can be edited / changed by an administrator. The config descriptions will mention all changes to web.config needed.
License Key	The information encoded in the license key depends on what program options you've purchased.

Some of the configuration-options depend on separately purchased program options.
