This page is used to create or edit a single knowledge document.
Only users with user role 'editor' or 'approver'
are allowed to view this page. Only documents with status 'under construction'
may be changed. All other documents will only allow to change the
status (depending on the user role).

Use the 'Title' field to edit the title of the document.
Editing structure fields:
Select one of the structure fields from the list at the left side of the screen
(subitems to 'My Structure').
After that you can enter / change the text in the big text area. It is possible
to edit the attributes of the text as well (bold, italic, lists, hyperlinks, ...)
(see "Editing HTML-Text")
Attachments
This part of the edit page shows a list of attachments already assigned to the
document. For each attachment listed you will have the following options:
Description
To change the title of an attachment simply type in a new title in the
title field of the attachment.
The attachment will be removed from the knowledge document.
This also deletes the internal copy of the attachment. This operation
does not affect the original version of the attachment from which it
has been loaded into powerKNOW some time in the past.
This option will only be available if you are an editor
(see User Roles for details).
The attachment will be viewed in a separate browser window.
If this symbol is not shown, powerKNOW is not configured
to show this type of document in the browser
(see configuration of mimetypes).
(Depending on the type of attachment the browser will need additional
software to be installed on the client for presentation)
Download the attachment to store it on the client.
To add a new attachment:
Use 'Browse' button to locate the attachment file (You can also type in the
file path in the text box). Enter an appropriate title for the new attachment and press
'Upload'.
Keywords
This part of the edit page is used to associate keywords with the document.
Click on an item in the structured keyword tree (left list) to associate this item
with the document. Click on the '+'-sign to expand an item without
associating it to the document. You can also mark the item and use the
'>>'-button.
To remove an already associated keyword mark the keyword in the list of
keywords associated (right list) and press '<<'-button.
Experts
This part of the edit page is used to associate experts with the document.
To associate an expert with this document select a user in the
available experts list (left list) and use the
'>>'-button.
To remove an already associated expert from the document mark the user in the
associated experts list (right list) and press '<<'-button.
Document Infos
This part of the edit page is used to change the status of the the document
and show automatically retrieved informations.
To switch the status click on the link(s) provided. Depending on your
User Roles, some of the links
may not be provided).
Options / Storing
All your changes will be stored when you leave the dialog using a 'Store...' button.
Leaving the dialog with 'Cancel' will discard all changes.
The following options exist:

Show the next edit page and continue editing
Delete the document
Delete the document and go back to the result list.
This option will only be available if your user role and the actual
status of the document allow changes and if deleting of documents is
generally allowed (see Configuration).
Store all changes and reindex
Stores all changes you've made to the document and goes back
to the document viewer. Additionally a complete reindexing of all
unchanged parts of the document is done.
This option will only be available if reindexing of documents is
generally allowed (see Configuration).
Alt-S
Store all changes
Stores all changes you've made to the document and goes back
to the document viewer.
Navigating the edit pages
You can use the 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons (see above) to navigate the
different texts and other edit pages.
It is also possible to use the
tree view on the left side to navigate directly to the page you want.
Please be aware: Using links from a navigation menu (main banner, ...)
other than the 'Store...' buttons described will
discard whatever changes you are currently doing. These changes will be lost.
